If you purchase any of our Cat Eye Gel Polishes, the product you receive will have the cap done this way using the same magnet. If you do not get the results that are on the cap, please use the steps below for the desired finish.

For the best cat eye effect, apply your cat eye gel polish over a cured layer of the cat eye, not using a magnet for the first coat, then work one nail at a time. Apply a smooth, even coat and do not cure yet. Immediately bring your magnet in close (about 3–5mm from the nail) and hold it steady for 4 seconds – this gives the magnetic pigments time to move and form a crisp, defined line. You can experiment with different angles and positions of the magnet to create a variety of looks (straight line, diagonal, S-curve, halo, etc.), always holding it in place for those 4 seconds before pulling it away. Once you’re happy with the pattern, cure as normal, then finish with a shiny top coat to lock in the design and really make that cat eye pop.
