NSI Does Not Use MMA

NSI does not use MMA in any of their liquid formulations.

It is true that MMA liquid based chemistry is an irreversible bond on the nail bed and that enhancements used with MMA cannot be removed without severe damage to the nail bed.

NSI does not use MMA, nor do they condone its use in any professional nail formulation. In addition, the majority, if not all, reputable nail product manufacturers do not use MMA formulations

NSI have found many years ago a safer chemical compound that encompasses EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate Monomer) which is a more flexible monomer liquid. Nail technicians can remove it easily and safely.

EMA monomer has been thoroughly reviewed by independent experts as a replacement for MMA, and has been found safe to use for nail applications. These independent review boards are part of the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR Board) which consist of independent experts who publish their findings in peer reviewed toxicological publications worldwide.

Rick Slack, President Nail Systems International has issued the following statement, .

“NSI does not use MMA in any nail formulation, nor have we in the past. As a company, we are voluntarily inspected by the EPA and local OSHA regulatory agencies.”
